Rain and Mountain Snow are ahead for New Mexico to begin the week.
Clouds will continue to increase from the west throughout Sunday afternoon as a storm system approaches New Mexico. A few showers could develop across extreme western New Mexico in places like Farmington, Gallup and Quemado by Sunday evening.
The rain and Northern Mountain snow will fill in overnight Sunday into early Monday morning.

Areas above 8,000 feet in the Northern Mountains will pick up 3-6″ with some isolated higher totals at the peaks. The Northern Mountains of New Mexico are under a Winter Weather Advisory from Monday night into early Tuesday. The San Juans in southern Colorado are under a Winter Storm Warning from Sunday night through noon on Tuesday for snow totals of 8-14″ above 8,000 feet.
The storm will be a quick hitter and it will be out of the region by early Tuesday. The middle of the week and into Thanksgiving Day will feature sunshine and mild temperatures for this time of the year.
A winter storm warning is in effect from midnight Sunday night until noon MST Tuesday above 8500 feet for heavy snow and blowing snow.
