RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE)– Some teens who wanted to show appreciation for their community didn’t just say thank-you, they gave back in a big way.

It was all part of Rio Rancho High School’s “Big Event.”

Hundreds of student volunteers visited homes around town Saturday doing odd jobs to thank Rio Rancho residents for supporting the public schools.

They did a variety of tasks including painting, window-washing, yardwork and whatever folks needed.

Residents had the opportunity to sign up for one of these visits through the high school.
