A warmer Sunday is ahead for most of New Mexico with a mix of sun and clouds! An area of high pressure will be in control of our weather on Sunday. This high pressure system will help temperatures rebound back to warmer than normal temperatures for Sunday afternoon. Albuquerque will feel temperatures back in the lower 60s by the afternoon.
The warm up will be short lived. That is because a low pressure system will move through New Mexico late tomorrow night and into Monday. This weather maker will bring the shot for scattered rain and high mountain snow to the Northern Mountains to begin the week.
Areas above 9,000 feet could see 4-7″ across New Mexico’s Northern Mountains with 8-14″ in the San Juans of southern Colorado. The San Juans of southern Colorado are under a Winter Storm Watch for the chance of heavy snow above 8,000 feet from Sunday night into early Tuesday morning. This storm system will be out of the region by early Tuesday. Temperatures will take a slight dip back into the low to mid 50s to begin the week as the storm moves across the region
By Thanksgiving temperatures will be warming back up making for a mild holiday with more sunshine to close out the week!
