ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– Bernalillo County Firefighters were called to a home explosion in the east mountains Saturday.

Firefighters tell us a victim in this case got a lot of help from his neighbors, but the home is a total loss.

It happened out on Camino Alto Road in Sandia Park.

Neighbors tell News 13 they heard an explosion and rushed over to pull the man inside of that home out onto the front lawn.

The man was transported to the hospital, but no word on his condition.

Very little of that house is still standing and the truck that was parked there is charred. BCFD says that truck a total loss as well.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

BCFD tells us nearly 30 firefighters were called out to battle that blaze.
