ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A team of local organizations spent their afternoon collecting food for people in need.

The effort was all part of the 2016 Stuff the Bus Food Drive. The Department of Family and Community Services, ABQ RIDE, and American Home Furniture and Mattress collected non-perishable food items. The donations help support local food pantries.

“It’s important to collect the food because the city of Abq doesn’t have the budgets to provide food for our clients, so we rely on businesses and citizens of Abq,” said Mayan Armijo, Stuff the Bus Food Drive.

If you missed today’s drive and still want to donate, you can bring foods to any of the four pantries in Albuquerque.
