Lapel video released of NMSU shooting

suspect on floor

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State University  police have released lapel video the night one of their officers shot a student on campus.

Officers responded to calls of a man with a gun earlier this week at the Chamisa Village Apartments.

They say 28-year-old Karsten Cuthair refused orders to drop a gun so Officer Jarrod Colliver shot him in the leg. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
