ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The wind didn’t stop kids at Albuquerque’s Manzano Day School from taking part in their annual Turkey Trot.

The students run and walk for 30 minutes around the school. Whoever does the most laps wins.

Teachers say it’s a way for students to show they are thankful for their fitness.

“Kids love it. They’re excited for it all month and they really want to do well, they really just want to run and be outside and enjoy the weather,” said Jesse Armijo, P.E. teacher.

The trot has been a tradition at the school for 15 years.
