ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s the first of its kind and this fun run is helping to get those involved in the holiday spirit.

Special Olympics New Mexico is introducing their first time ever Santa Shuffle and Elf Scoot.

Erin Gallegos and Arlene Espinoza-Armijo with Special Olympics New Mexico joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the race. Watch above.

The premier race is fun for the whole family. The Santa Shuffle is a 5K, but the Elf Scoot 1K is a perfect fit for the kiddos.

For the adults, dressing up is encouraged. Where else can you run in a full Santa suit? Adults will receive a one size fits all Santa suit and children registered for the Elf Scoot will receive a T-shirt and Elf hat.

The event will be held at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum on Saturday, December 3rd from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m..
