LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico elementary school is home to a new food pantry thanks to UPS.

Los Lunas UPS store franchisee Raquel Montoya nominated Ann Parish Elementary School for UPS’ “Your Wishes Delivered Campaign”.

After holding a school supply drive, Montoya learned the school had a washer and dryer on campus to clean clothes of students in need.

Tuesday UPS surprised students and staff with the new food pantry.

“When children eat and they’re well-fed then they learn, and maybe they can get out of their situation,” said Raquel Montoya, UPS store franchisee.

On top of the new food pantry, UPS also donated $1,000 to the school to start its own clothing bank.
