Lobo women give first year coach Bradbury a dominant win over NMSU

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With a first year coach getting his first taste of the Lobos and Aggies rivalry fans may have thought it would be a close game Tuesday.

The Lobo women thought otherwise and dominated the Aggies in a 84-55 victory. Lobos guard Alex Lapeyrolerie continues to have the hot hand for the Lobos. She scored 22 points in the win.

Four Lobos were in double figures. Post player Richelle Van Der Keijl owned the paint. She scored 19 points and pulled down 22 rebounds as the much taller Lobos out rebounded the Aggies 57 to 45.

Jaisa Nunn had 15 points off the bench while guard Jayda Bovero, starting for an injured Laniah Bryant, had 13 points.

Brianna Freeman led the Aggies in scoring with 16 points. The Lobos shot 50 percent for the game and 42 percent from the three point line.

The Lobos won the battle of fast break points at 40 to 13. They also had the advantage in points off the bench.

The Lobos scored 37 while the Aggies only managed 17.

With the win, the Lobos improve to 2-0 and will head to Texas Tech Sunday. The Aggies are 1-1.
