Lobos handle Houston Baptist behind big night from Tim Williams

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- Craig Neal’s University of New Mexico men’s basketball team upped their record to 2-0 Monday night with a 95-79 win over Houston Baptist.

Lobos senior forward Tim Williams turned in his 8th career double double with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Williams was one of three Lobos in double figures.

Freshman guard Jalen Harris chipped in 13 points for the Lobos. He also had four assists.

Lobos junior guard Xavier Adams scored 11 points. Colter Lasher led HBU in scoring with 19 points.

The Lobos shot 62 percent for the game to that of 43 percent for HBU.

The Lobos found their touch at the charity stripe shooting 83 percent they also won the bench points, scoring 38 to that of 25 for HBU.

The game was a tune up for the New Mexico State Aggies. The Lobos will host their rivals Friday at WisePies Arena AKA The Pit.
