ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sunday kicked off the 6th Annual Rock Your Mocs Week, founded by New Mexico local Jessica Atsye and now celebrated in communities around the world.

The week-long event at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is intended to highlight the cultural richness and diversity of Native Americans and other indigenous groups.

Atsye says it’s a chance to feel a connection with other cultures even those far away.

Sunday’s celebration featured musical and dance performances, arts and crafts and moccasin-making demonstrations.

Events continue through November 19th.
