Chris’ Sunday Night Forecast

An area of high pressure is regaining control of our weather.   That means more sunshine and warmer than average temperatures to begin the upcoming week.   The warmest day will be Tuesday.   That is when some areas could get close to record highs while Albuquerque will be flirting with 70°!   The record for Tuesday in the metro is 73°.

The warm weather will continue into Wednesday before a storm system rolls into Colorado by Thursday.   The core of the weather system will move to our north through Colorado.  So that means most of the moisture will stay in Colorado with only light snow possible in extreme northern New Mexico by week’s end.  The bigger impacts will be from an associated cold front that will crank up the wind and send temperatures tumbling to their coldest levels so far this Fall!  Albuquerque could finally feel its first freeze on Friday morning with many areas in central and southern New Mexico feeling the 20s & 30s during the nighttime hours by next weekend!
