ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- It was a slower start than this Lobo team wanted, but once they got the jitters out this team put on a great showing. They defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 83-56 in a game that was led by junior guard Alex Lapeyrolerie who had a career high of 21 points.

Senior post player Richelle van der Keijl also had a career high night, putting up 20 points for the Lobos. Coach Mike Bradbury said he would play fast and that’s what they did as they put up 83 points and had multiple stand out performances.

This style of play shows that the Lobos are strong in many areas and can prove to be a tough matchup for a lot of teams they will see this year. Cherise Beynon did not have a bucket in this game, but the sophomore did rack up a double-double with 10 assists and 13 rebounds.

The Lobos return to action on Tuesday night taking on New Mexico State at 7pm. That game will be at Wise Pies Arena AKA The Pit, and it will also be the N7 Game where the Lobos wear their turquoise jerseys.
