Albuquerque mom, fiancée arrested after burns found on 8-year-old

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque mom and her fiancée are charged after police say the fiancée went too far disciplining an 8-year-old girl.

According to a criminal complaint, that girl told police that her mom’s fiancée, Gregory Pierce, burned her arm with a lighter.

Investigators say the girl told them her mother, Julia Ann Kirsch, told her to claim she got burned making ravioli.

Pierce is facing a child abuse charge.

Kirsch is facing a witness intimidation charge for what she’s accused of telling her daughter.
