KRQE Cares Books For Kids Project

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – From shoes to food, KRQE Cares is the umbrella for several initiatives throughout the year and now there’s a program that’s helping with illiteracy.

KRQE Cares is excited about a unique campaign, Storytime in the Parks. What’s different with this program is that instead of donated books for the children, books will be bought and not only handed out to students, but read to them in a shaded area in a park. KRQE’s Kristen Currie has had the pleasure of being a Local Celebrity Reader.

Representatives of the campaign joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the project.

This campaign is assisting the Title 1 Schools in the Albuquerque Community.
