NM Film Office hosts Film & Media Conference

Business is booming for the New Mexico film industry. With more than eight big-budget productions currently working, New Mexicans are busy in the biz.

To support the infrastructure needed for the industry, the New Mexico Film Office is hosting a Film and Media Conference this weekend at Isleta Resort and Casino.

The two-day event is the perfect opportunity for filmmakers, actors and businesses to learn more, get involved, and do some all-important networking.  Film office director Nick Maniatis says that right now, opportunities are everywhere for small business owners to branch out into supporting the multi-million dollar industry.

“These productions need dry-cleaning, they need auto mechanics”, says Maniatis, highlighting the ancillary needs not often considered when assessing film’s far-reaching fingerprints.
