City gears up for big pet adoption weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Local shelters are making it easy for the community to save a life with a fun adoption event.

National Adoption Weekend is coming up Friday, November 11th through Sunday, November 13th.

The City of Albuquerque Welfare Department and Watermelon Mountain Ranch have teamed up to bring the community a wide variety of adoptable pets.

Watermelon Mountain Ranch’s Executive Director, Sara Garrigan, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the event. Watch above.

The three day event will take place at Petsmart on Coors and Eubank and times do vary. This is an in-store event with 15 to 30 pets up for adoption.
