ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The outcome of one race will go down in the New Mexico history books.

The very close race for the state Supreme Court went to Judge Judith Nakamura.

The long time judge is now the first female Republican to hold a seat on the court.

Tuesday night she was celebrating the win and Wednesday, she told KRQE News 13 she’s ready to get to work.

The win also heralds the first elected female majority to the Supreme Court.
