ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As the polls closed voters anxiously watched as the results started to roll in.

Republicans have been celebrating the momentum throughout the evening and now they are more and more encouraged that their candidate will win. There is a lot of optimism at the Albuquerque Convention Center where Donald Trump supporters are seeing a lot of key, swing states being called for Trump.

Now Democrats are nervous, wondering if Hillary Clinton will pull through. Clinton won New Mexico but she has been trailing throughout the evening. Many people are in disbelief at Hotel Andaluz where supporters are watching the Election Night events unfold. However, they are not ready to give up and are watching as more results are announced.

Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson made an impact on New Mexico voters. The Libertarian candidate has so far received nine percent of the votes in the state. At his watch party at Hotel Albuquerque Tuesday he spoke to his supporters not long after it was announced that Hillary Clinton won the state. In his speech Johnson also talked about him and his running mates plans for their campaign, and said how more and more voters now are registering as Libertarians.
