MONDAY: A chilly start to the day with morning temperatures in the 20s, 30s and 40s under a partly clear sky. Expect a mix of sun and clouds overhead with afternoon temperatures topping out in the 50s, 60s and 70s. All eyes will be on an incoming backdoor cold front that will drop in over the Eastern Plains through the day. Little to no moisture will keep showers at a minimum today… but the best shot of a spot shower will lie over the high country of northern NM. Gusty winds will accompany the passing of the front in the ABQ-metro – expect sustained winds 15-25mph to kick around midnight and continuing through the early part of Tuesday.
TUESDAY: The mentioned front will continue to move southwest over the state – cooling down temperatures and briefly kicking up winds. We’ll keep an eye out for a few spot showers – particularly in and around the higher elevations – but mostly dry conditions will dominate for the majority of us. Expect high temperatures to top out in the 50s and 60s across most of the region.
