ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– A power outage on Albuquerque’s northwest side left thousands in the dark Sunday.

The outage was reported just after 7 p.m. and affected nearly 4,000 people in the area of Coors and Ellison.

PNM says the outage was caused when a piece of equipment called a switch-gear malfunctioned which sparked a small fire.
