ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- It was a slow start for the running Lobo women on Sunday afternoon, as they shot just 2-14 from the field and 1-8 from 3 point range. The ENMU Zia’s were definitely physical early on racking up a lot of fouls and it seemed to rattle the Lobos.
While they did start slow they finished strong, as they came back to win 89-70 finishing 2-0 in their exhibition schedule.
Freshman Mykiel Burleson finished with a game high of 19 points and also pulled down 4 boards. Cherise Beynon also added on a solid 18 points, most of which came from the free throw line. The big girl Richelle van der Keijl also had a good game getting 11 points and 10 boards
The Lobos now start their season next Saturday as they host Farleigh Dickinson at the pit 2pm tip off.
