Health insurance groups encourage New Mexicans to reevaluate coverage plans

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– If you need to sign up for health insurance or change your existing coverage, open enrollment has kicked off in New Mexico.

The health-insurance resource group, Health Action New Mexico, encourages people to re-examine their policies, even if they’re happy with their coverage.

The organization says about 8,000 New Mexicans who are eligible for federal assistance have not signed up for it.

Enrollment runs through the end of January.
