On The Stage: John Wagner

Recording artist John Wagner has been in the business for decades and in 1995, he got the idea to take a beloved song written by Mose McCormack in the 1970s and marry it with the unmistakable sound of Mariachi Tenampa. The results were distinctly New Mexican and became an instant success.

John explained, “record companies kept saying ‘come up with something different,’” so he did.

He has a library of music available at New Mexico Sound and John Wagner Recording Studios is located in Albuquerque.
