KRQE NEWS 13 ANALYSTS: ART vote won’t have impact

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Voters will be able to weigh in on the controversial Albuquerque Rapid Transit project when they head to the polls next week. KRQE News 13’s political experts Dick Knipfing and Gabriel Sanchez talked about what they think would happen.

“We have a question here in Bernalillo County and it is strictly an advisory issue the county commission put it on the ballot on the Albuquerque Rapid Transit project. The controversial ART project. So what do you think is going to happen with that?” asked Dick Knipfing. it is a survey. it doesn’t ask if you are for it or against it, just asks if voters should have the right to vote on it. a completely

First of all it is essentially a survey, a poll.” Gabe Sanchez responded. ” “A completely non-binding poll question should the voters have a vote. I think you’re going to see overwhelming support for giving the voters some say in this.”

The mayor’s office says the outcome of the poll question will not change the plans for ART.
