NEW YORK (KRQE) – A man cut short an opera show in New York on Saturday when he sprinkled powder into the orchestra.

“We have spoken to more than one witness who said they spoke to an individual out of town who indicated that he was here to sprinkle ashes of a friend, his mentor in opera, during the performance.” NYPD’s John Miller said.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video casually walking away from the Lincoln Center afterwards.

The audience was evacuated and no one was injured.

Police are still looking for the man.
