ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- It was a huge victory for UNM Football and even bigger for this Lobo Defense that came up huge in the 4th quarter, locking up the UNM 28-21 victory. Daniel Henry forced a fumble with under 9 minutes left in the game, and Lee Crosby would pick up the loose ball and go 46 yards for the go ahead touchdown.
“You know could we get to the point where we won some games on defense and we strung 2 games together now. I thought they played hard all night, never felt like Hawaii had much rhythm, that we pressured them and we did some things we had them going. So, it was a big win”, said head coach Bob Davie.
Lobo Football bettered their conference record to 3-1, which puts them tied for 2nd with Boise State in the Mountain Division. They are now also 5-3 overall this season, just 1 win away from being bowl eligible for a 2nd year in a row.
The Lobos take on Nevada next in Albuquerque. That game is scheduled for Saturday with an 8:15pm kick off.
