ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- Albuquerque Academy graduate and now Houston Astro, Alex Bregman is back in town and had time to sit down with KRQE News 13 sports director Van Tate.
Bregman finished his short MLB season with a .264 Batting Avg., 8 HR., and 34 RBI in 201 MLB at bats. He definitely caught fire later in the season, but Bregman also had some trouble in the beginning of his MLB start. HE went 0-17 in his first 17 at bats, but just like anything he just needed some time to adjust.
“At first it was a little tough to lock in I was like wow I am in the big leagues this is something that I have dreamed about my whole life. This is crazy so much fun so much stuff going on. After a few at bats, after a few games you kind of settle in and say let’s go play baseball lets go win and do this thing”, said Alex Bregman.
Bregman will leave town on Sunday, but the rising MLB star will be back in town in mid-November holding a baseball camp with Blake Swihart.
“We have a lot of baseball camps going on this year, we have 7 camps in Louisiana, Texas, and actually in Albuquerque on the 22 of November. 5 to 8 pm at Rio Rancho High school, so it’s going to be fun to go out there and teach the kids everything that we know”, said Bregman.
