Walmart brings Halloween fun to kids in the hospital

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Walmart is making sure kids at UNM Hospital are keeping their spirits up this Halloween.

Today the retail giant surprised the young patients with costumes, Halloween toys, and crafts.

With some kids too sick to go home for Halloween, Walmart says it was important to bring the fun to the kids.

It’s something the parents say they’re thankful for.

“It’s very important because it gives the kids something to do and make them happy throughout the day. They need stuff like that. They really do, with them being so very sick,” said parent Shelli Marshall.

The kids spent the day picking out costumes and decorating pumpkins. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
