ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The number on the scale is not the only way to track progress when it comes to working out.

Fitness Expert, Kristin Rowe, talks about how to change your mindset and perspective in this week’s edition of Fit Friday.

It’s very common for those to trying to track their fitness to look to the scale to reveal any progress made in their fitness journey. But there are other ways so prove that working out has been helping into getting healthier.

Circumference measurements, body fat testing, progress photos, journaling training and benchmark tests can all be used. Rowe also suggests to take into account if clothes are feeling looser.

Rowe joined KRQE’s This Morning team to also demonstrate how to work shoulders. Watch above.

The first exercise she demonstrated was Dumbbell side lateral raises with a drop set. A drop set is a technique that is used to fatigue the muscles and push them to the limit.

Rowe suggests eight to 10 reps.
