Three ways to stay safe on and off campus

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – There’s no better feeling for parents than knowing that their child is safe once they leave for college, and this means while at school and their new home.

Signal 88, a security service for residential, commercial, retailers and institutional customers, believes that safety is a basic human right and has tips on how college students can stay safe both on and off campus.

Signal 88 Representatives, Jeff Carlyle and Rick Dunn joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss ways students can be safe. Watch above.

Both Carlyle and Dunn suggest doing three simple tasks to keep safe. First, locking your valuables up and keeping your car doors locked.

Second, being aware of your surroundings is very important. The days are getting shorter and it’s becoming dark earlier

Third, know the safety protocols and get involved in the immediate community.
