New Mexico memorial recovers veteran’s lost war mementos

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – From lost, to found. A happy ending for a veteran whose special war mementos went missing.

KRQE News 13 first reported about Eva Morgan earlier this year on special assignment.

Morgan served 11 years in the Air Force. She loaned several items to the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial in Albuquerque, including nine newsletters.

After the six-month loan, her letters disappeared. Everyone at the memorial searched high and low with no luck, until now.

Morgan called KRQE News 13 Thursday to tell us some furniture was moved at the memorial visitor’s center and her letters were found.
