Local non-profit touts importance of hiring those with disabilities

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and there’s one local organization helping to spread the word on how important it is to help those with disabilities.

LifeROOTS, an Albuquerque based non-profit, wants to share with employers how important it is for businesses to hire individuals with disabilities.

Brandon Altman with LifeRoots and Colt Sanders with Southern Wine and Spirits joined KRQE’s This Morning team to talk about the awareness month. Watch above.

LifeRoots provide the community with a broad range of programs and services for children and adults with developmental, physical, and behavioral disabilities in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and surrounding areas.

The organization serves more than 1,500 disabled clients each year.
