Lobos rushing offense is number one in the country

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- The University of New Mexico offense is averaging 374.1 rush yards per game.

That is good for number one in the nation.

Army is second at just under 358 yards per game. Mountain West member Air Force is fifth at 291.4 yards per game.

Lobo running backs have gashed teams this year with Teriyon Gipson leading the way on yards per carry.

At 11 yards per carry, Gipson will be listed as the top running back in that category once he gets to 75 percent of games played. A hamstring injury caused Gipson to miss a few games. He has 623 total yards.

Lobo running back Tyrone Owens is fourth on the yards per carry list. He is averaging 7.81 yards per carry and has 687 total yards.
