Corrales gets new pet mayor after charity event

CORRALES, N.M. (KRQE) – Corrales has a temporary new mayor. But this mayor is unique with four legs and a tail.

The village celebrated its annual harvest festival and “Woody” the dog was named the pet mayor.

Voting for the pet mayor started in August and Woody, who is blind, came out the winner.

Cooper came in second and rounding out the top three was Hamilton Bobrick.

Each vote was $1 with proceeds going to local organizations around Corrales.
