MORIARTY, N.M. (KRQE) – People who may not be able to make it to Washington DC to see the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial now have the chance to see it in Moriarty.

The Moving Wall is a traveling half-sized replica of the wall in Washington DC. It lists the names of the more than 58,000 Americans killed in combat or missing in action. That includes more than 400 New Mexicans.

“It’s something we need to keep in front of the public. The sacrifices…not just for the Vietnam War but all veterans, and not just the veterans themselves but their families,” said Tom Wagner, New Mexico Department of Veteran Services.

The moving wall is on public display in Moriarty 24 hours a day until Monday at 3:00 p.m.
