New Mexico Attorney General becomes special prosecutor in Officer Webster’s murder case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of gunning down Albuquerque Police Officer Webster, Davon Lymon, will be in federal court Monday for the gun charges against him.

Those gun and drug charges stem from the night he was arrested after the shooting, but he has yet to be charged for Officer Webster’s murder.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Hector Balderas asked the district attorney to help with the case. He is now the special prosecutor in the state’s case and plans to file those murder charges against Lymon.

“It was a heinous violent crime and it’s exactly the type of case we believe we can assist with and move forward,” said Balderas.

Balderas says they have put together a legal team to build the murder case against Lymon. There’s no timeline for those charges to be filed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
