ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – People are helping bring smiles to the faces of Albuquerque middle schoolers.

Friday, students from Hayes Middle School took a field trip to Payless Shoes to pick out a new pair for tennis shoes for free.

It’s all part of the “KRQE Cares” campaign. With your help, KRQE News 13 has helped give shoes to thousands of underprivileged kids.

KRQE News 13 will be visiting many more schools over the year.

As part of the program, KRQE News 13 will also sponsor a food drive to help feed homeless Albuquerque Public School students.
