Trial date set for man accused of driving escaped inmates

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A trial date has been set for the accused getaway driver for two escaped inmates.

Lionel Clah and Joseph Cruz prompted a major manhunt after escaping from a transport van back in March.

Jesus Quintana told police he saw the men run out of the transport van and offered to help if they paid them.

Police say he helped the two cut off their handcuffs and shackles, gave them clothes and drove them to Albuquerque.

Quintana will face trial on February 6th.
