John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

A brief cool down...

A cold front will move into the state late today into early Thursday. As the front pushes through the Albuquerque metro, winds will start to pick up tonight. Expect gusts up to 35 mph. Behind the front, cooler air rushes into the state. Afternoon highs will return to near average for Thursday, with Albuquerque in the upper 60s.

The cool down is short lived. As high pressure builds in for the weekend, expect highs to warm 5° – 15° above average once again under mostly sunny skies. The weather stays relatively quiet through early next week. We’re watching the next significant storm for the state to potentially arrive late next week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
