ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the teens accused in the shooting death of an Albuquerque bartender has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Enrique Palomino is one of six teens police say were there the night Steven Gerecke was shot and killed in his driveway last year.
Police say the shooting happened as the group was out for a night of “mobbing,” breaking into homes and cars and causing property damage.
In court Monday, Palomino pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft, larceny and conspiracy.
Two other teens initially charged with the murder, Andrew Hubler and Ryan Archibeque, have also pleaded to lesser charges, including burglary.
Palomino’s sentencing has been set for November 28th.
The widow of the Gerecke was not happy after another plea deal was made.
The judge asked, “Any comment you wish to make other than that?”
“My comment is there were 41 and now I’m looking at three or four. It sounds pretty peachy for him,” said Vinnie Gerecke.
