Onate forfeited victories are reinstated

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Onate Knights football program won their appeal with the New Mexico Activities Association Monday. The NMAA reinstated four out of five victories the program had to forfeit last week due to an ineligible player.

Wins over Atrisco Heritage, Sandia, Gadsden and Mayfield are back, bringing Onate’s record to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in district 3 6A.

The mistake that lead to the player being ineligible was acknowledged as an administrative error. Onate’s athletic department and athletic coordinator will be on probation for two years.
