Fundraising event held on Albuquerque’s westside to help cats in need

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An event held Sunday raised money for some of our four-legged friends in need.

As part of Feral Cat Day, the organization, “Community Cats” held a fundraiser at Boofy’s Best for Pets store collecting cash, food and supplies.

The donations go towards keeping cats who roam free around the community safe and healthy.

Organizers say many of the supplies collected go to volunteers who socialize feral kittens to help them become adoptable.

Another goal of the event is to encourage people to spay and neuter their pets. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
