Former Lobo Chris DeVito back in town talking baseball

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- 8th round draft pick in the 2016 MLB draft and former Lobo, Chris DeVito is back in town resting and working on his game. DeVito played short season rookie ball for the Kansas City club in Burlington, North Carolina, for the Burlington Royals.

“It’s a lot of fun, its definitely nice getting to wake up and play baseball every day. It’s a great experience and hopefully I get to make a career out of it that’s the ultimate goal”, said Chris DeVito.

The first baseman put up some pretty good numbers while in rookie ball, in 60 games DeVito racked up 9 HR’s, 50 RBI, and maintained a .261 batting average.

While out in Albuquerque for a couple of week’s DeVito will spend some time with his former coach Ray Birmingham to pick up some tips for next season.

“I am going to see him in the next couple of days obviously, maybe he can help me out with a few things and yeah we talk all the time”, said DeVito. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
