Downtown Albuquerque hold 3rd Annual CiQlovia event

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– Bicyclists descended on downtown Albuquerque Saturday for CiQlovia.

The annual street party aims to promote active lifestyles and alternative transportation. The event also offers community education for people interested in cycling and other outdoor activities.

Central between 2nd and 8th was closed to motor vehicles giving cyclists and pedestrians free run of the streets.

Organizers say a key part of their message is to have respect for everyone on the road.

Similar CiQlovia events are held all over the world.

This is its third year the event has been held in Albuquerque. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
