ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Eldorado High School boys’ soccer team took a break from the field Thursday to do something good in the classroom.
They read to younger students from Wherry Elementary. They’ve been doing this for the past three years and they say helping these kids never gets old.
“It makes my heart pretty happy,” said Gage Robison, Eldorado boys’ soccer player. “It’s nice to come out here and play with the kids and read to them and just know we are doing something giving them an experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.”
After the athletes read to the kids, they handed out gift bags that included books, then everyone went out and played soccer.
