I-40 EB near Rio Puerco reopens after fatal crash


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office says I-40 eastbound near Rio Puerco is reopen after a fatal crash caused the interstate to close Thursday morning.

The road was closed for a couple of hours but reopened just around 1 p.m.

Deputies say one person died after a minivan rear ended a semi near the Route 66 Casino.

Motorists were advised to seek an alternate route.
