ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – United Blood Services locations in New Mexico and across the country are searching for volunteers to help those impacted by Hurricane Matthew.

With resources in storm-affected areas stretched thin, United Blood Services has issued an urgent call for blood and platelet donations from around the country. They say their supplies are critically low and blood centers in the southeast are struggling to collect what they need.

“This is something that’s important to do for the public, and it makes you feel good when you’re done. You’ve done something positive for the community,” said Den Drumwright, blood donor.
