CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) -Carlsbad’s new water park has turned out to be a big hit.
The $4.5 million water park opened back in July.
The city says an estimated 2,600 people visited.
City officials also estimate between 15 to 20 percent of the visitors came from out of town with a large number of guests coming from Roswell, Artesia, and west Texas.
The water park was paid for through the City of Carlsbad Lodger’s tax and the general fund.
